Seeking:Edgar, "King Lear": Males & Females, 30-40, Gloucester’s older, “legitimate” child; transitions from gullible--easily tricked by his brother--to an ally and asset to Lear and Gloucester as “Poor Tom," to an armored champion to right Edmund’s wrongdoing. Extreme depth and range: physically, emotionally, vocally. Edmund, "King Lear": Male, 25-30, Gloucester’s younger, “illegitimate” child; ambitious and resentful of his status as bastard; rormidable in his ability to scheme and manipulate those around him. Arrogant. But charismatic. Playful but fierce. Master Frank Ford, "Merry Wives": Male, 30-45, a resident of Windsor; married to Mistress Ford; oppressively jealous of his wife, he disguises himself as “Brooke” to keep an eye on her actions. Master George Page, "Merry Wives": Male, 30-45, a resident of Windsor; married to Mistress Page; unlike Ford, he is not prone to jealousy; he has an easy going attitude, except about finding a suitor for his daughter, Anne. Hugh Evans, "Merry Wives": Males & Females, 30-45, the local clergyman; Evans’ Welsh accent amuses the other characters. Doctor Caius, "Merry Wives": Male, 30-45, a French physician and would-be suitor of Anne Page; easy to anger and seeks retribution when wronged. Mistress Quickly, "Merry Wives": Female, 30-45, Caius’ servant; ends up being everyone’s messenger; she passes messages for all suitors, but prefers and supports Fenton. She mishears others and misuses language. Shallow, "Merry Wives": Males & Females, 30-45, a country justice; encourages nephew, Slender, to court Anne Page. Slender, "Merry Wives": Male, 20-25, nephew to Shallow and suitor to Anne Page; his name describes his wit; prefers talking sports over courting.
