Songs include: Gorgeous, Here in Eden, I've Got What You Want; It's a Fish; Go to Sleep Whatever You Are, What Makes Me Love Him, Oh, to Be a Movie Star, I’ll Tell You the Truth, Which Door, Who Is She? and You Are Not Real. Vocal ranges are concert pitch, even though in treble clef [concert Middle C is C4 - so written middle C for women is C4 and for men octave lower = C3) The Diary of Adam and Eve Adam Masculine, practical, and stubborn. At first confused and put-off by Eve, he soon learns to love her. Age: 20 to 35 Vocal range Db3-E4 (so Db below middle C to E just above middle C concert pitch) Eve Beautiful, curious, and playful. She knows what's best, and greatly seeks Adam's admiration and companionship. Age: 20 to 30 Vocal range B2-E5 The Snake A smooth-talking Broadway type. Stealthy and manipulative. Age: 30 to 50 Vocal range D3-G4 The Lady or the Tiger Balladeer The audience’s guide through the story. Smooth-talking (not unlike The Snake). Age: 35 to 55 Vocal range C3-G4 King Arik Hot-blooded, demanding King with absolute power and father to Barbara. Age: 40 to 60 Vocal range Bb3-E4 Princess Barbara High-maintenance, seductive vamp. She is secretly in love with Captain Sanjar and tends to insane jealousy. Age: 18 to 25 Vocal range B4-Eb5 Captain Sanjar Has just come back from some terrible war and is in love with the Princess Barbara. The story is about Ella, a telephone answering service operator with a fascination for her client’s private lives. Songs include: Just in Time; It's a Perfect Relationship; The Party's Over; Long Before I Knew You, I Met a Girl, I'm Going Back, You’ve Got to Do It, Is It a Crime?, Salzburg, Independent and Mu-Cha-Cha. Ella Peterson (Character Alto/Belt) Sue's cousin. She role-plays with both clients and their callers. She falls in love with Jeff Moss before they’ve even met. Judy Holliday type. (12 songs) (Age 25-35) Jeff Moss (Tenor/baritone) a writer and client of the Susanswerphone service (7 songs) (Age 25-35) Sue Summers (Mezzo) owner of the Susanswerphone Company (Age 30-45) Gwynne Smith Ella’s best friend/telephone operator (Age 25-35) J Sandor Prentz (Baritone) a small-time crook who has proposed marriage to Sue in order to use her company as a bookie joint Inspector Barnes (character voice) overly ambitious, bumbling detective - insists Sue's company is a front for a prostitution ring (Age – 30s-40s) Frances (character voice) Barnes' equally bumbling partner (Age – 30s-40s) Carl (Tenor, must dance) a delivery boy (Age 20-30) Dr. Kitchell (character voice) a dentist who sings and longs to publish his own music Larry Hastings Producer Blake Burton Out-of-work actor Chorus and Chorus Dancers
