Seeking:“Grease” Danny Zuko: 18+ to play high school age. The leader of the “Burger Palace Boys.” Well-built, nice-looking, with an air of cool easygoing charm. Strong and confident. Sandy Dumbrowski: Danny’s love interest. Sweet, wholesome, naïve, cute, like Sandra Dee of the “Gidget” movies. The “Burger Palace Boys”: 18+ to play high school age. A super-cool, D.A.-haired, hard-looking group of high school wheeler-dealers... or so they think. Kenickie: Second-in-command of the Burger Palace Boys. Tough-looking, tattooed, surly, avoids any show of softness. Has an off-beat sense of humor. Doody: Youngest of the guys. He’s charming with a disarming smile and a hero-worshipping attitude toward the other guys. He also plays the guitar. Roger: The “anything-for-a-laugh” type full of mischief, half-baked schemes and ideas. He’s a clown who enjoys putting other people on. Sonny Latierri: Italian-looking, with shiny black hair and dark oily skin. A braggart and wheeler-dealer who thinks he’s a real lady-killer. The “Pink Ladies”: 18+ to play high school age. The club-jacketed, gum-chewing, hip-swinging girls’ gang that hangs around with the “Burger Palace Boys. Betty Rizzo: Leader of the Pink Ladies. She is tough, sarcastic and outspoken but vulnerable. Italian, with unconventional good looks. Frenchy: A dreamer. She’s good-natured, but not the brightest. Heavily made-up, fussy about her appearance—particularly her hair. She can’t wait to finish high school so she can be a beautician. Marty: The “beauty” of the Pink Ladies. Pretty, looks older than the other girls, but betrays her real age when she opens her mouth. Tries to act sophisticated. Jan: Comedienne. She’s loud and pushy with the girls, but shy with boys. She’s a little over-weight. Other Roles: Patty Simcox: 18+ to play high school age. A typical cheerleader at a middle-class American public high school. She’s attractive and athletic, aggressive and sure of herself, given to bursts of disconcerting enthusiasm. She’s also catty, but in an All-American Girl sort of way. She can also twirl a baton. Eugene Florczyk: 18+ to play high school age. The class valedictorian. Physically awkward, with weak eyes and a high- pitched voice. An apple-polisher, smug and pompous but gullible. Vince Fontaine: Late 20s-30s. A typical “teen audience” radio disc jockey. Slick, egotistical, fast-talking. A veteran “greaser.” Teen Angel: Timeless. A good-looking falsetto voiced, Fabian-look-alike. A singer who would have caused girls to scream and riot back in 1958. Miss Lynch: 40s-50s. An old maid English teacher. Cha-Cha Digregorio: 18+ to play high school age. A Blind date. She’s outspoken, flirtatious with unconventional good looks. Takes pride in being “the best dancer at St. Bernadette’s.” Johnny Casino: 18+ to play high school age. A “greaser” student at Rydell who leads a rock ‘n’ roll band and likes to think of himself as a real rock ‘n’ roll idol. ________ “Gypsy” Rose: (Female 40) A domineering, take-no-prisoners stage mother who will do anything to further the success of her daughters in show business. Mezzo soprano/belt. Louise: (Female, 20-30) Awkward as a child and always observant, hides her femininity under the guise of a tomboy. When she finally shines, her unabashedly extrovert self takes over. Mezzo soprano/belt. Herbie: (Male, 45-60) An agent for Rose’s children and a possible husband number 4, has a heart of gold but also has the power to defend the people he loves with strength. Baritone. Strong actor. Dainty June: (Female, 20-30) Baby June as a young teenager, the older she gets, the less she enjoys being treated like a child, must dance very well, tap, and be a strong performer with a strong belt, mezzo. Ability to do the splits and twirl a baton a big plus. Tulsa: (Male, 20-30) Boy-next-door type, charming, handsome and endearing, strives to break and be a star, strong vocals and dance, must tap; tenor. Tessie Tura/Ms. Cratchitt: (Female, 30-55) An experienced and wisened Burlesque performer. Specialty - Ballet stripper. Ballet skills optional. Mezzo. / The gate-keeper of the Grantziger’s Palace and a battle-axe, not unlike Rose. Mazeppa: (Female,30-55) An experienced and wisened Burlesque performer. Specialty - Trumpet stripper. Trumpet skills optional. Alto. Electra: (Female, 30-55) An experienced and wisened Burlesque performer. Specialty – Light-bulb stripper. Electrical experience not required. Adult Male Ensemble: (Male, 30-60) Various character roles with minimal singing requirements; seeking strong actors. Child Roles: Baby June: (Female, 8-12) Rose’s daughter who is constantly being groomed to be the next Broadway star, cute, blonde, high energy performer with a fantastic belt, who dances well, has gymnastic skills, baton twirling a plus. Baby Louise: (Female, 9-13) An awkward, observant young girl, always playing second fiddle to her sister June: genuine, earnest, and charming _______ “Annie” Annie: (Female D5 – A3) Annie is a complex, tough, streetwise urchin who is surprisingly vulnerable when she thinks she might lose what has become most important to her: her newfound "family." Seeking an excellent actress who can act motherly, independent, overwhelmed and hopeful. She should be strong vocally and musically and be able to light up the stage. The Orphans: (Female): The Orphans are gritty girls that are neglected and vulnerable, yet basically honest and lovable. Cast girls that can have "mischievous" fun together, as well as "sibling style" fights. Each actress should be able to shape her own specific character, be a good singer and visually expressive. Duffy - The oldest. D5 – C4. July - The quietest. D5 – C4. Pepper – The toughest. Bb4 – C4. Tessie – The cry-baby. C5 – A3. Kate – The next-to-youngest. C5 – C4. Molly – The youngest. B4 – A3. Oliver Warbucks: (Male D5 – A3) Oliver Warbucks is the daunting millionaire who made his fortune during World War I as an industrialist. Must appear middle-aged, self-assured, confident and gently authoritative. Warbucks is awkwardly affectionate toward Annie at the start and then finds himself completely charmed by her. His few solos in "N.Y.C." are secondary to the character commitment as an actor. Miss Hannigan: (Female D5 – G3) Miss Hannigan is a definite "has-been." Her distaste for her job should ooze from every line she delivers. Seeking a strong actress with excellent comic timing. She must have a strong versatile singing voice and be able to create a character that is larger than life. Rooster Hannigan: (Male Bb4 – G3) Rooster Hannigan is Miss Hannigan's swindling brother. He is flashy, self-assured and the "smooth gambler" type. Lily St. Regis: (Female Bb4 – Bb3) Lily St. Regis is the sleazy girlfriend of Rooster. She is naturally funny, has a good sense of timing and is a strong singer. Grace Farrell: (Female C5-D4) Grace Farrell is Oliver Warbucks's calm, cool and classy secretary. She appears business-like when dealing with Miss Hannigan and Warbucks, yet maternal toward Annie. Always appears "in control;" she is sophisticated, likable, sweet and confident. President Franklin D. Roosevelt President Franklin D. Roosevelt is enlisted by Oliver Warbucks to help locate Annie's parents. He will be pushed onstage in a wheelchair and delivers a momentous line about "A New Deal!" Seeking an excellent actor, his vocal solos are secondary to the character commitment as an actor.

Seeking:Ella (Chorus / Ensemble): Female, understudy only. 20s. Any ethnicity. Beautiful and expressive traditional musical theater soprano mix. An elegant dancer, she must have strong dance and partnering skills and great comedic timing. Though no one notices her beneath her rags and quiet demeanor, she is opinionated, charismatic, passionate, funny, and effortlessly beautiful. Idealistic and hopeful, she courageously challenges the prince to change the policies in his kingdom – and helps him discover who he truly is. Always her late father’s daughter, she is determined to see the good in everyone despite her hardships and suffering. We see her blossom into a confident woman. Topher (Lead): Male, 20s, soaring, rich musical theater baritone to a G. Must have strong dance and partnering skills and great comedic timing. A misguided and lost prince who longs to do something important with his life. Though brave and heroic, he feels lonely and unfulfilled. Charming, but not a stereotypical ladies’ man, he is thoughtful, appealing, and innocent with an unforced goofy streak. Moral, genuine, and kindhearted, he is at a crossroads and must take control of his kingdom and his future. Also seeking understudy. Tumblers (Fox & Raccoon) (Chorus / Ensemble): Males & Females, to play characters 20s-30s, including the Fox footman and Raccoon carriage driver; height 5’10” or smaller. Must be fantastic dancers with strong ballet technique for extensive partnering and lifts. Must tumble well: back handsprings, back tucks, aerials, etc. Strong singers for multiple voice parts. Potential to cover as well. Dancers Who Sing (Chorus / Ensemble): Males & Females, 20s-30s. All genders; must be elegant dancers with solid ballet technique for extensive partnering and lifts. May also understudy. Comrade Chin/Suzuki: Female, 30-49, Asian, Chin is a Chinese Communist functionary from a peasant family, she serves as Song Liling's handler from the Party. A true zealot and believer, she finds her assignment and Song himself distasteful, until the Cultural Revolution gives her some real power. Dancer/Kurogo #2: Female, 20-39, Asian, excellent movement and acting skills. Performs Peking ballet sequence, Red Army sequence, tableau and background, etc. Pointe experience a plus. Dancer/Kurogo #3: Male, 25-40, Asian, excellent movement skills; performs Peking ballet sequence, Red Army sequence, tableau and background, etc. Martial arts and combat skills preferred.
