This role requires a Northern Mississippi dialect. Actor 2: Male, 18+, to play Eric in "Everything is Wonderful", Caucasian, late 30’s-early 40’s. Unemployed, confused, and adrift in the world. He is an addict, and there is a dark core at the center of him that he’s fighting very hard to keep buried. He is deeply self-centered and self- loathing. He has a hard time finishing a sentence; when he changes direction mid-thought. REPS with Jim in "Byhalia, Mississippi" 25-30’s. He is a father-to-be, born and raised in Byhalia. REPS with Sophie Scholl is "We Will Not Be Silent", 21, a German college student activist who led the only major act of civil disobedience during the Second World War in 1943. She is brave, intelligent, outspoken, and passionate with a moral strength and clarity. Actor 5: Female, 18+, to play Esther in "Everything is Wonderful" Caucasian, late 40’s-early 50’s Amish mother. She is a hard worker who suffers no fools and speaks her mind, and lives with a hereditary current of anger just below the surface. On the outside, she seems simple and perhaps submissive, but she has a core of steel. She has a Pennsylvania Dutch accent. REPS with Celeste in "Byhalia, Mississippi", 50-60, a strong, outspoken, opinionated, Southern woman. She is Laurel’s mother. She can be controlling and domineering. She has a good sense of humor. He is sensitive and not always comfortable in his own body. He doesn’t know how to be a man, at least according to his skewed image of what that is. Janine sits at her desk like it’s her throne. She knows how to be commanding, and imperious. She can freeze a student or a colleague with chilly hauteur. She thinks elitism is a good thing. Her natural manner is relaxed—she is very comfortable with her place in the world. She is an elite intellectual…makes inappropriate jokes…her mind is constantly roving. She is a powerful, confident and energetic woman. Actor 14: 18+, to play Zoe "The Niceties" biracial (black/white), 20’s, a college student. Zoe is capable of stillness. She is conscious of the power dynamic of body language. She makes other people uncomfortable and she knows it. Under the pressure of growing up black and frustrated in an elite Northeastern private-school culture, she has learned to carefully control herself to wield maximum power and impact—she can hold someone’s gaze without fidgeting. Zoe speaks and carries herself almost like a prophet…like Cassandra. She sees herself as a vessel of truth, bravely standing up to authority figures. Zoe also has incredible warmth. Actor 15: Female, 18+, for "Wild Horses" in her 50’s but there’s a childlike quality to her. She is warm, funny, wary; stubborn and righteous. She is a good friend and a good liar.
