Beast: Male, 30-40, A Prince transformed into a terrifying beast for his lack of compassion. He is hot-tempered and commanding, but has a warm, loving heart buried far beneath his gruff exterior. Vocal range A2 to F4. Gaston: Male, 30-40, The egotistical, ultra-masculine villain determined to marry Belle. He is manipulative yet charming and earnest. Vocal range A2 to E4. LeFou: Male, 25-35, Gaston’s bumbling sidekick. He is loyal, energetic, and optimistic, but not quite the brightest guy. Vocal range: B2 to F#4. Maurice: Male, 55-65, Belle’s loving, eccentric father. A child at heart and inventor in his own world. Vocal range Bb2 to Db4. Lumiere: Male, 35-45, A suave, debonair enchanted candelabra. He is loyal and steadfast servant. Vocal range F#3 to F#4. Cogsworth: Male, 40-55, A tightly-wound enchanted mantle clock and the head of the Beast’s household. He is uptight, strict, and punctual but also hard-working, faithful, and thorough. Vocal range A2 to E4. Mrs. Potts: Female, 45-55, A warm-hearted, maternal enchanted teapot. She is loyal, caring, and playful. Vocal range F#3 to G5. Chip: Male, 7-10, An enchanted teacup and Mrs. Potts’ darling little boy. He is innocent, playful, and bright-eyed. Vocal range A3 to F5. Babette: Female, 25-35, A saucy, enchanted feather-duster, and the object of Lumiere’s affections. She is the playful, gorgeous seductive French maid. Vocal range C4 to F5. Monsiuer D'Arque: Male, 35-55, The scheming proprietor of the local insane asylum. He is a dark, sinister villain who aides Gaston in his plot to marry Belle. Vocal range D3 to A4.

Contemplated homicide after his wife left him for his younger brother. Became an alcoholic after the death of his parents. Found meditation after his AA sponsor killed himself. Is very excited for the retreat but is also contemplating murder again now that his brother and ex-wife are expecting a child. Rodney: Male, mid 30s, fit and gorgeous. A yoga instructor who habitually has sex with his students and designs a line of vegan wallets. Is terrified of aging and death. Used his wife’s money to fund his own studio after being fired for sexual harassment. Wears a lot of man jewelry, but no wedding ring. Jan: Male, 50ish, a Lutheran pastor from Finland. Curious and sweet, he desperately misses his dead son and is looking for answers. Taciturn, prone to tirades, but essentially courtly and graceful. Maude Larabee: Any ethnicity, 50s to 60s. Linus Sr.’s wife. She is elegant, direct, and rules of the family. “Sister Act”  Five performances per week. Sister Mary Patrick: Female – Supporting. Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano. Any ethnicity. Between 35 and 50s. Mary Patrick is one of the more boisterous nuns. Young or just young-at-heart, she is consistently perky, enthusiastic, and easily excitable. Monsignor O’Hara: Male – Supporting. Baritone. Between 40 and 60. The Monsignor will try anything to raise money to save the convent. Constantly concerned with financial matters, though soul music surprisingly puts him in a different mood. The following AEA role is cast. Seeking possible emergency replacements only: Mother Superior: Female – Lead. Mezzo-Soprano. Between early 50s to early 70s. Mother Superior is the head of the convent, sarcastic and a bit stiff. Extremely protective about keeping her sisters away from the outside world, which puts her in direct opposition to Deloris and her musical teachings.
